History 

       The Camaligan national High School, formely a Barangay High School, is the only Public Secondary School existing in the town of Camaligan serving the people of 13 barangays and its neighboring municipalities.

       The birth of the school was conceived through the efforts of the Barangay Council of Santo Tomas, Camaligan , Camarines Sur headed by the former Barangay Captain Andres Servidad on April 1,1979.The proposal was made and all the Barangay captains of the entire municipality were informed about the plan. On the last week of May, 1979 the present 58 enrollees were called to a meeting at the municipal hall in the presence of Mr.Henrry  Aguire, Human Settlement Officer,Atty. Olap Benosa,the District Supervisor, Mr. Godolfredo N. Cordial, the Camaligan Central  Principal, Hon. Dalmacio A. Aurellano, Municipal Mayor, Mun, Kgd.Roger  P. Carińo,Municipal Treasurer Ramon Caceres and other municipal, barangay and school officials to finalize the opening of the school.
